WASH issues & objectives of our activities

In Africa especially in Burundi Waterborne related diseases are estimated to cause the death of 137 people each month, of which125 are children under five.

Unsafe/ inadequate access to water, sanitation and hygiene mark in many rural and semi-urban locations a profound effect on their health;households are travelling for days/weeks without any proper foods and safe water for drinking; The most affected population being children and women almost 80% if underrated.

A combination of prolonged drought, flood rain, hyperinflation especially of food, currency devaluation, increasing civil insecurity and migration have disrupted local production systems and put pressure on available resources.

1. Our The overall objective of the intervention

3º Varying socio cultural categories (youth, adults & elders) and balancing gender in multiplicity

6. Philosophy

“Adherence to the proposed changes implies dialogue and negotiation, which will lead to taking into account not only the priority needs of the population but also its practices, knowledge and techniques, which often contain the most appropriate solutions and the best adapted to the conditions of the environment”.
